Hi all new to the forum and pcgb. just bought a 944 turbo and it has an old alarm immobiliser fitted (2 in fact). i have onl one fob and thats a bit hit and miss when it works so am thinking of getting it ripped out and a new (cat1?) remote alarm/immobiliser fitted. anyone any suggestions as what to go for, dont want to spend lots really. also any good people in west mids to do the work (thinking of trying porschetech at shirleys as its pretty near me) thanks

Alarms are like car stereo's they all do pretty much the same job so it down to personal taste. I always fit clifford to my cars but it might be worth ringing you insurance company to see which alarms they give the best discounts for.

I'd recommend Toad from my limted experience of one system (a Powerkey in my Mazda). I wouldn't bother with cat 1 though, cat 2 is enough for insurance and has the advantages of not waking you up in the night if it plays up and not being such a drain on the battery when parked up. It's not as if anyone pays any attention to car alarms going off anyway, so why bother with one?
