1990 Red 964 Targa - G842 XPL - any previous owners?

I've been engaged in a restoration of this car for the last 18 months and thankfully am nearing the end of the project. While I've got a reasonable outline of some of its history, I still have a few blanks. While the vehicle's original registration mark was G842 XPL, it also bore C9 ELV for a while too. The chassis number is WPOZZZ96ZLS410272.

I would be grateful for any information that previous owners were able to share.

With thanks

Does it list previous owners on the V5 doc? If so maybe you can look them up on LinkedIn and reach out. Maybe previous PCGB members too - if they were then maybe Dave can help you out(?)

No PCGB member's car in the past 6 months but it might have been under a different registration.
The Club house is the best place to seek that information.

The V5 will give you the last owners details if memory serves me right. This is where history documentation really comes into its own. Over the years people can see who and what has been done to the vehicle. A list of owners is usually kept and tracing the cars history becomes quite easy and rewarding seeing what your vehicle has done and where it has been.
When I owned a 3.2 911 Carrera there was a more or less complete record of the car. I kept that going by adding the bill heads of the services and the parts purchased.
This type of vehicle history shows that the owners cared and it also gives the new purchaser a sense of trust as the information is in black and white.

Thanks for these suggestions.
I contacted the club originally and was told that while they do have a record of the car, due to data protection issues they could not divulge any personal data and suggested that I try the forum with a general request...
I do have some owner's names from way back, but again there are restrictions. I may try Facebook or Linked In.

The club can easily send a message to the previous owner with your contact details without divulging their address to you.

Exaclty. You would of thought the club office would have suggest and offered to do that instead of just fobbing Andy off. Very unhelpful!!

I did a similar thing years ago with and OPC. I asked would they contact the previous owner with my details. The OPC returned with a contact number. I then phoned the previous owner who was more than happy to discuss the vehicle. As it happened they had regretted part-exing!
I still have the car 12 years on ;)
