Was this an RS awaiting conversion? The RS was not available in the States so air bag present and leather seats.
 
Due to USA safety legislation, my understanding is that all of the US CC's came with airbags, "standard" C2 seats etc.

The car you posted has, I think, been available for quite some time.
 
Yeah they all went in as standard and then had to be converted to USA cup spec by Andial.

Above linke should give you lots of info Des. US CC just a lot like the RS America though compared to euro equivalents...
 
Looking at the suspension turrets etc I would say Porsche sent over some thing more special than a C2 .... the airbags and seats would have been put in to get thru customs type approval ?
