1996 993 C2 Engine Cut Out

Drove my car for about 15 miles yesterday and at traffic lights the engine cut out and the all the dash lights came on. Tried to restart to no avail and decided to call the AA.
Whilst I was waiting I thought about the problem and thought it could be the DME relay.
I have a spare and fitted it but still no good.
I replaced with the original and waited for the AA. Just before he arrived I tried the engine and it started for about 90 seconds and then died again.
Could this be a heat related problem?
Will try again when my battery has recharged.
Any help would be appreciated.

Regards
Mike

Hi Maurice,
thanks for your reply.
I did about 12 miles stopped for 10 minutes then 3 miles and then the car stopped.
It was turning over until the battery died.
The spare DME I bought from Gert at Carnewal and is 993 615 227 00 seems to be made in Hungary. However, I havn't tested this replacement.
The car is due for a service but I dont know if the dual ignition has been tested recently.

The AA man looked around but did not want to mess with anything and towed me home.

The immobiliser is a PA2000 upgraded from PA1000 by OPC Reading. The car has had the wiring loom recall job performed

PCT in Coventry have resolved the issue. It appears that it was related to the PA2000 immobilizer / security system.
