1997 Boxster Airbag light staying on

Hi,
Anyone know why my airbag warning light is staying on and how to fix the problem? It is a 1997 2.5 Boxster.
I have taken it to a garage the diagnostic they had said that the fault was with the back door, I did not pay for this information.

I would suggest that you have the codes read by a Porsche specific reader PIWIS, Durametric, etc to give you a better pointer to the problem.

Hi,
Thanks a Million for your reply and help. I am afraid that I will have to go to a main dealer and pay their prices as the so called Porsche specialist that I have been to in the past to fix my soft top and heater found to be of little use.
Happy New Year, Kieran

Hi still struggling with this airbag light, took it to a local garage their diagnostic came up with a fault with the rear pins. Any ideas as to what these pins are?
Regards, Kieran

Most airbag problems are due to the clock spring under the steering wheel. You really need to go to some one who has a clue what they are doing! Where are you in the world?

Hi all,
I would like to let you all know that I have had this problem fixed. I went to Cavendish Porsche in Long Eaton and they replaced the airbag sensor that is situated under the consul in front of the gear stick.
I will definitely go there again.

A big Thank you to you all, Kieran
