Reading OPC sent me a letter reminding me of my first service (a week after I had it done, admittedly I had it serviced a couple of months early because I had it in for something else) Remember your PCGB membership gives you some discount on parts.

You will get a service reminder, something like 28 days to service. this is urely a time dependent service indicator, which should be reset during the cars PDI, but often isn't so this message comes up early based on when the car was actually built. Costs - its std pricing across the network, just watch out for the optional extras like air con system cleaning @ £80 (remove leaves from from air ducts, and a can of deodoriser that you can buy in Halfords for £13), or even the air con system check and regas at £170.

ORIGINAL: mojo Erm... hate to disagree but mine did get a service indicator on the dash
mine definately didnt ...mmmmm..dealer just did the service and didnt refer to a warning light ,and no reminder 28 days before either,so i just went ahead and did it-admittedly a few weeks earlier than 2yrs as `i'm a bit ocd with the porsche[;)]

YES !!!!! to both questions. My OPC contacted me today to remind me my car is due it's first service. The car also indicated to me today on it's computer that a service is due in 28 days. Let's hope I can supply my own oil and get a discount on parts.

i am very jealous of your opc keeness for custom-hatfield clearly couldnt be bothered with the service work!!!!

ORIGINAL: iankwilson Does PCGB entitle us to any form of discount? Ian
No is the answer. PCGB members are not entitled to a discount. Merely that some OPCs give a discount. Would anyone like to disagree with the way I see it?

I'll agree with you Derek, Aberdeen do not offer a discount to PCGB members. I've tried and got the burns from being shot down in flames...

Edinburgh does, 10%. Forgot about it when I had the car serviced, so not sure it counts for workshop stuff, but I have certainly got my 10% off when buying parts over the counter. In fact, a set of brake pads from Edinburgh PC (less 10% and no carriage cos I collected them) were cheaper than ANY of the suppliers doing mail order. [:D] Note: Edinburgh OPC only offer this because Greig & Kenny (former RO and assistant) took the trouble to meet with them and negotiate this. [;)]

I get a 10% discount when buying parts in Aberdeen OPC, albeit the last parts were in January this year (when I was still a member).

OPC willing to give me a 10% discount and I can supply my own oil. [;)] I think the discount probably applies to parts only, but here's to wishful thinking.[:D]
