Welcome. When you say you have ordered the 964 manual, is that the "buyer's guide"? (by Peter Morgan) - I recommend you get that - only a few quid (and not many pages to read) but packed with model specific buying tips - helped me no-end.

I would second that - Peter Morgan's book is an excellent way to learn about the various models and help you decide which one to go for. You will have to decide from a bewildering array of different models and options, especially if you are interested in "early 911s" as well. The 911 has been in production for 45 years now, constantly evolving !

Welcome to the forum Ben!

I sure that you will be as lucky as I have been with the support of members here and the help and information you receive.

Cheers!

It can do, unfortunately. If the previous owners have neglected to carry out essential jobs there can be some big bills. The best thing is to have a Pre-Purchase Inspection carried out by a reputable specialist. That way you will know what you are in for before you buy. If you are handy with the spanners you may not mind taking on a bit of work yourself. It depends what you are looking for, and what is the size of your budget !

ay mark

well know i am not to handy with a spanner and unfortuantly do not have the time to stay in a garage tryning and learning , though i wish to

i am from malta , if i where to find a porsche i am interested , this reputable specialist you mentioed , is he some 1 that i could find and b4 goin up to c the car either have him have a look at it or meet with him to c the car ? are there alot of these specialists?

im looking for a preferably pre 73 modle, though thgere are so many porsche modles which i luv

thanks for the replie

ben

Ben - there are lot's of good specialists in the UK, but I don't know of any in Malta, sorry. You are probably looking at over £20k for a decent early RHD 911 these days, and there aren't many around. The Early 911 forum would be a good place to ask.
