Hi Guys thought I'd join up and show you mine lol. After looking long and hard I came across this 1986 944 turbo that had been fully restored and feel in love with her I have posted a picture and write up that was with the car when it was advertised will hope fully get some better pictures when the weather improves. Would love to hear your comments and any advice you can give would be greatly received . Also thinking of showing her so again any advice would be great.
thanks Greg

Absoloutely stunning 1986 944 Turbo. This car has been meticulously restored from an uncrashed ( HPI checked ) example by a dedicated 944 Turbo enthusiast. Meticulously restored over a 3 year period in spare time with absoloutely no expense spared and only sensible updates. Huge file of reciepts, thousands spent. Only a few hundred dry miles covered since rebuild. Some spares also available if required

Succesful bidder must view car and BOTH parties be in full agreement before final sale documents are signed or the car stays with me.
Arrival of ( expensive ) new wife and wallet eating house restoration forces extremely reluctant sale of what is probably the best 944 Turbo in the UK.
Body and interior
Stunning full leather retrim by Southbound auto trimmmers ( Porsche retrim specialists - the best ). Seats are all electric and include electric lumbar support option. All Carpets as new. Momo sports steering wheel ( leather )
Complete ( stripped to bare metal ) body shell and engine bay respray. Doors and bonnet painted separately. The paintwork, panel gap and alignment is flawless and better than when new.It took over one year of project on body and paint alone . All glass unmarked. New window lifter motors. New headlight lifter mechanism. Alarm system. New indicator lenses etc. 968 Spoiler. ( Original spoiler comes with car )
Running Gear
Fully refurbished and unmarked 18 inch GT3 wheels. Fully rebuilt front and rear suspension using 95% OE parts. New steering balljoints and trackrods, new OE front wishbones ( not reconditioned - £ 600 !) Brakes uprated with fully refurbished 944S calipers and disks. Every single brakeline renewed. Braided stainless Brake hoses. Front and rear suspension, stripped, cleaned and painted in two pack paint or replated to original specification where applicable.
Engine and Transmission
Engine is 100 % oiltight and does not burn Oil . See Pic of instrument panel - engine running on tickover - full oil pressure.
New Water pump, New OE belts and all tension / idler pulleys. Cylinder head rebuilt with new valve guides and seals. New H/D clutch and master / slave cylinders. New radiator. New bearings fitted in transmission torque tube. All Coolant hoses replaced. Wastegate rebuilt , New bearings and seals in Turbo. Air con system fully rebuilt and operational. Rebuilt gear shift linkage. New rear driveshafts and CV joints. New synchro rings in gearbox ( Gearbox has Limited slip diff ) . All metal bright work in engine bay renewed or replated to original spec.

welcome Greg and Wow ! what a find .....lucky you.[;)]

what a nice Christmas prezzie .

Pity about the colour though lol (just kiddin)

What are your first driving impressions ? its quite differant from anything else isn't it. Difficult not to fall for the 944 in a big way especially if it has the sports seats . What colour is the interior?

Love driving it to bits and because the paint work gleams you get some right looks this is the inside.

Ooh - very nice!

Only one point, don't think about showing it, certainly not at concourse, unless you want them to tear you apart for the non-standard wheels, momo, dash trim etc. Obviously concourse has it's place, but I'd say you'd be better off driving it than cleaning it....[;)]

Good find Greg [:)] You must bring it along to one of our many meets next year (maybe Frontrunner in April or Silverstone Historic in July). I'd be particularly interested to see the leatherwork as it's something we need to do with our S2 in the near future.

Oh and more pics whenever you get the chance or weather) , there is no such thing as being a show off on this forum [:D]

Hi Jon and thanks for the comments so far guys . Has for the GT3 wheels they were on the car Jon how ever I can tell you they cost an extra 40 pounds on the insurance and 50on the excess:rolleyes:. So when I looked them up on the internet I found several sets at 1400 including the tyres so i guess thats why.
cheers
Greg

Very, very nice, well impressed with the retrim, tastefully done and looks a great job, i agree with you, recently bought a 944 Turbo and felt instantly attached to her (whereas most other cars i have owned and loved had to work for it over an extended period, instanly loved this one). Great example of a great car, enjoy

What a beaut. Love the leather. If the concourse chaps don't like it then that says more about them.

Greg,

Looks really really good - good find!

I too like the interior and by the looks of it someone has taken a lot of pride in getting it to this stage. I really hope you enjoy the car and remember to use it and not just look at it!!

Have fun....FB

Super car, really lovely (jealous[]) I hope you enjoy it and I look forward to seeing it one day.

The interior is fabulous (a club that allows new or practically new cars to be concourse competitors but then knocks a car cos the replacement leather is a different colour from standard takes it all too far seriously IMHO)

BTW I notice the twelve way seats as I dont see many with them (I`ll probably now be inundated with lots of "I have" replies) and ask has it a sunroof as it`s not clear in the photos or the sale description?
