Press release from Porsche website.
What they give with one hand (electric tailgate closing) they take back with the other (price rise).
I wonder what all the "numerous changes in detail" are?

From June 2004:

New prices for the Cayenne models

Stuttgart. For the Cayenne, Cayenne S and Cayenne Turbo models, Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart is adjusting its prices worldwide. From June, the six-cylinder Cayenne model costs 2.9% more in Germany, the price for the eight-cylinder Cayenne S and Cayenne Turbo models are to be 1.9% higher. At the same time, Porsche is further upgrading the standard fittings of its sporting off-road vehicles. Prices for the Porsche sports cars remain unchanged.

In the important USA market, the Cayenne price is being raised by 2.8%. With the Cayenne S there is a 0.7% increase, for the Cayenne Turbo 0.4%.

In addition to numerous changes in detail, all Cayenne models will have electric closing for the tailgate. The optical identifier of the new Cayenne and Cayenne S models are the front and tail parts as well as the side sill panels with the under sills being painted in the car color.
