2.7 987 Flat Battery - I cannot open bonnet

My poor car has been sat on the drive for 3 days now with a flat battery. I thought this would be relatively easy.
I have a car booster purely for the Bonnet release - supports cars up to 2L, and a car charger for when I can actually get in to the bonnet.

Manual suggests:
Take the fuse cover off, pull out the Red fuse, connect booster to door area and red fuse, flip the bonnet....

No joy, no joy at all....I remember ages ago the AA man coming out and doing something extra around the fuse area but can't think what...

Help!

2006 56 plate 2.7 Boxster

What am i missing?

There is a red pull out post in the fuse box, this is your positive terminal. Connect the charger positive to this and the charger ground to a convenient point and ....bobs your uncle you should be able to release the bonnet.

Yes I did pull out the red fuse I tried that that.....just went out again and it worked!

I was actually using the bonnet release within the car, next to the seat.

For some reason I gave the key fob a go...and bingo the bonnet opened...booster stared the car as well...just went for a drive to get some charge in it...23.5 degrees at 9:30, can't be bad....

Thanks

Couple of things;

You need to give the booster a moment or two to pass a charge into the battery.

You say that your booster is rated for up to 2l engines. Bear in mind that your vehicle is 2.7l. A small charger I carry will start other folks Alfas and Hondas no trouble at all. Will not start the 997. Ever.

What did you connect the negative connection to? The hinge nearest the front wing is best, not the strut supporting the door.

I connected the 'black' lead to the door hinge and it worked, as I say the key fob worked immediately, rather than the release catch next to the seat.
