according to porsche the new 2.7 manual comes in at 222 g/km keeping it under the high tax band.
but i have seen contradicting info on pre 2004 manual 2.7's
what are you guys paying for early 2.7's and did it change in the 2003 facelift
cheers

I think the £300 bracket is for cars registered in '06 and newer. I have an '04 2.7 facelift 986 and pay the standers (£195 i think)

When I ordered my 2.7 in 2006 the figures were 229 g/km but on delivery (MY07) this had dropped to 222 g/km which gives a tax of £205. My wife's Jeep (2002) has a figure of 253 g/km but the tax is still £205. So it looks as if Boxster 2.7's registered prior to the implementation of the existing tax bands (I think it was 2003 or 2004) still pay £205 but after that date to MY07 the higher tax would apply. Sorry to be a bit vague but hope the above helps

thanks
looks like new tax came in in 2006 so although 2003 model is over the 225 threshold it gets away with it
crazy tax anyway if you ask me it should be scrapped and put on the price of petrol that way you pay for how much you pollute not just the size of your engine.
