Gentlemen

Now the GTS has gone and i am down to my 2001 C Class Daily only and insurance with Admiral Multi car immanent - Can you please advise what Insurance companies and cover to look at. I am Mid 40's with 15 years No claim bonus and wanting to do say 2 Track days a year in GT4 ...

Many thanks
Andrew

Andrew,

Although I'm now insured with Classicline, I've also had a policy with ManningUK. Both are reputable companies who include UK trackday cover in the policy and will offer competitive quotations.

You could try the Club's partner Lockton, but they seem to be very uncompetitve for the newer cars, and Porsche's own insurer Marsh is another alternative. Both offer trackday cover.

Others will have further suggestions.

Jeff

If just two track days then Marsh probably best.

If more track days Manning.

Locktons' book is aimed at very low mileage supercars and they struggle with Porsche owners' mileage when they actually use their cars.

Stand alone day insurance quotes I have received were around £860 per day.

Just got off the phone with Classicline Insurance - Great people and Friendly service and with 5k miles allowance plus Trackdays and Market Value of GT4 coming out at £794 ... [:D]

Yep, Classicline. I have just switched to them today having had my first 6 weeks with A.N Other. Cover for the recent PCGB trackday at Oulton Park ended up being £250 (3 times more than indicated) whereas it's free with C/L. Annoyingly Classicline who insure my other car wanted a grand when my GT4 arrived but now quoting under £800. I'd have gone with them in the first place at that price (£100k agreed value, garaged, good postcode and history etc. Crucially, no tracker needed - same as the other company). Apparently the underwriter, Aviva, have had a bad few months with heavy track day losses hence the hike in cover.

Managed to cancel old policy without penalty.

I have been with C/L for the past five years for my original car and they are very easy to deal with and know their stuff. I'm happy to be with them for both cars, recommended.

Ian - Did you definitely get £100k agreed value, as i don't think i got an agreed amount; saying that my GT4 doesn't come until March ... Andrew
