Hi,

Well I picked up the Black Cab S2 on Friday and am just getting used to how heavy and planted it feels compared to the cars ive been running over the last 18 months , puma, MR2, im also suprised how simular it feels to my old 964 , the smell, (not hot oil ha ha ) the weight of the doors etc..its fab, its had a bit of a sheltered life as the previous owner only did 9k over the last 7 years but he's spent shed's on the servicing etc with new cams, rollers, wish bone, paint work , now its going to be used everyday come rain or shine.
I cant see any bills for a water pump tho , its on 80k at the moment so do i plan to change it or wait to see how it goes ? Im planning to change the front lights to clear , the sides to black and will change the steering wheel to the RS type thats about it .oh and I will also join the owners club.

So anyway I live near Portsmouth can anyone recomend someone this way to look after the servicing etc when its needed.

Come on then....post the pics!!

Glad you are enjoying it. Let me know what you decide about the water pump. I am on 58K with no change but get a really annoying problem which might be linked to the pump.

Sometimes I leak coolant - certainly not all the time. For weeks the car will run with the reservoir at max then suddenly it will loose water to that the level goes just below the min mark. Fill it up and out it goes!!!
Leak seems to be frm bottom LHS of engine - looking from front - which might be the pump but I can not understand its frequency. My other thought is that I have a cracked pipe or loose connection but until I get it on a ramp with the skid plate of I will not be able to tell.

Anyway let me know what your indie says.
Cheers..FB

Ive not opened the bonnet yet , for fear ha ha. every time i opened it on the 911 it cost a grand ha ha. I have only had a brief look but will do at the weekend when its not dark .

My water pump was deemed fine at 5k per year until the next change, but is noisy as hell. Or, sounds like a supercharger, as I'm an optimist! [:D]

As there's no extra labour to speak of I'd consider the £125-ish part cost worth doing next time for sure. Also, when my belt was done first time they missed an oil seal failing, which meant a new belt after 1 year....[]. There is an argument to get the whole lot done in one go!
