2 strange noises and a warning light to sort

I took the car (1992 C4 cab) for a spin the other night and it started to make 2 strange noises.

The first is when I hit a bump in the road. I am running 18" wheels on lowering springs and at firsth thought it may be some rubbing, but cant see any sign of that. It lasts about 1 to 2 seconds and sounds like a cross between the noise you get when your tuning a radio in and someone scrapoing their nails down some sandpaper - KRRRRRRR.

The second noise can be heard when I take my foot off the gas (whether in gear or not). It is coming from the tunnel area. It is a wirring sound a bit like a worn bearing sound. Also when I move the gear stick around in neutral it changes the pitch of the noise - could this be a gearbox issue or maybe lack of oil in there?

I have booked it in my local Porsche Specialist on Tuesday but any suggestions would be appreciated.

Finally the warning light is on and does not go off until the switch is pressed.
There are no other warning lights on at all.

regards Lee
