2000 miles and a few smiles

I had to go to Hamburg on business so decided to take the Porsche as i needed to do some tuning on the engine.
We left Bromsgrove at 7.30pm and headed for Dover and the Ferry.
We arived at around 11.30 as we had to stop off at 2 locations in London (again for work).
When we arived in France we were faced with completely clear roads through France, Belgium, Holland and then into Germany.
We managed average speeds for the journey of 87mph with top speed of 186mph throgh Germany.

We arived in good condition with the Porsche clocking up the miles with ease.
We worked through several locations in Germany, Hamburg, Essen, Bremmen, Glere and Maas before returning through Holland and then onto Harwich and back home.

I have to say that the car did extremely well overall, it held all of the gear we needed for our trip and with the seats down there was plenty of room for us to take turns sleeping.
The trip computer showed an average consumption of 25.8mpg which is astounding considering the hammering we gave the car.

I had had earlier worries about the handling of the Porsche after i bought it but have to say that once a fair speed is reached (maybe 100mph) the car does feel very planted and secure.

All in all im now very happy with the car and think i spent my money wisely.

Hi,

Sounds like a dream run, something I want to do but apprehensive. Need to get on with it and take her into Europe and really enjoy the handling. A lot of people comment on the 80-100mph window of their car feeling unsteady but nothing to worry about in my opinion as you say over the ton the car is planted. 186mph nice!!!!

Regards Alan
