Is there anyway i can find out how many 2001 facelift 996's were sold in Purple??? is this a standard option colour or special to order???
thanks

3.6 'facelift' was introduced for the 2002MY, so the first models would have been built from late 2001.

'Purple' was not a colour option. Nearest to purple was Orient Red Metallic.

I was looking at a bespoke purple 996 on Pistonheads, really liked the colour but didnt want a 99model & wondered on the chances of finding an early facelift of that colour

was it vesuvius? its a puple colour in some lights and was sold on the millemium limited edition i think.

For a significant surcharge you can order any colour you like. But most people seem to prefer black, grey or silver.

Yea ive seen a lot of silver ones but only a couple of black ones with the options i want, Black is my first choice, unless i could find a newer purple one [:D]

It does look like the same colour (bit high priced though)
Ive since found a 996tt & that said vesuvius so i dont know if the other one is a real colour or perhaps they have it wrong

It looks abit cherry/purple
Think i need to have a look at a couple in daylight
If i can find any of those colours near by. Think its a tall order with the other requirement that i want[;)]
