Does anyone know how to remove the rear wiper from the Targa rear window?

The wiper is very stiff in operation and needs a good soak in WD40 or something.

Any suggestions?

Cheers

Robert!

I'm not too familiar with the Targa rear lid, but here are the instructions to remove the motor, if they help: <Targa Wiper Motor Removal>

Hi Richard.

It's the actual wiper on the glass lid that's stiff and i cannot fathom how to remove it.

Spraying copious amounts of WD40 on it helps a little but it needs a good soak I reckon.

cheers

Sorry Robert, I can't seem to find anything else in the workshop manual or parts diagrams. I assume that the wiper is in the glass and the motor is in the rear panel. Presumably there is some kind of drive coupling when you close the lid.

If you can't see anything on the underside of the glass, perhaps you could try removing the wiper arm (flip up the cover and undo the nut) to see if there is anything obvious underneath. My old 3.2 has a brass nut under the arm which you undo to take off the pivot bearing.
