2002 Boxster S door speakers not working

Hi,

Wonder if anyone has seen this before. I have a 2002 Boxster S with the Porsche Sound Pack, basically an amp under the front bonnet and a CD changer. Dash speakers work fine, checked balance/faders on Porsche head unit, fine, but both door speakers are dead. Checked connections to amp under front bonnet and seem ok. Could it be a faulty amp, or maybe head unit?

Any ideas welcome, particualrly if you have seen this problem before.

Thanks.

The doors only seem to handle bass - are you playing anything with enough of the low notes?

I remember playing a particular track and thinking that the speakers had gone - nope it was just a lack of low frequencies in that tune.

I'm having problem that my 2002 boxster door speakers don't work. Front speakers are fine. Is the prob the amp or the cd/radio unit?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Roy

Hi,

I resolved this for my original post a while back. Play some music that has some good base to it, quite loud! Put your hand on the front of the door speakers and you will feel them vibrating but not necessarily hear that much. Seems they act almost like sub woofers but ARE working. I felt a bit stupid but really couldn't hear any sound from them. I have the slightly upgraded Porsche sound system that has the Amp under the bonnet along with the CD Autochanger.

Hope that helps.
