2002 Facelift changes

bose was made standard, think auto dimming miror, can't remember much else but sure someone will be along!

i seem to recall the following,

Bose became std
25% stiffer chassis?
Glovebox
MOST system (not a great upgrade, although mine sounds great just not very compatible with the rest of the world)

Basically, the audio systems signal path is digital until it gets to the amp. It's a way of routing audio around the car without picking up interference or sound quality degredation. It is also a "standard" format so in theory other manufacturers can produce kit that will interface with it, trouble is they havn't. Well, apart from denison who make an ipod interface but although this is a decent bit of kit it's twice the price of anything else on the market.......Audi use a MOST system in some of their newer models too. Porsche were way ahead of the game with it, so much so that the rest of the world havn't caught up, which is a PITA if you want to upgrade or integrate any other audio stuff.

The Turbo didn't go through the same changes as the other 996's which were upgraded to Facelift spec, this leads to a fair bit of confusion, you get the glove box & cup holders, plus increased spec with Bose & auto-dim mirror/ auto rain sensor as standard, but NO major chassis, engine, rigidity, aerodynamic changes! In fact the 996TT changed very little during its production cycle, with the most radical change being the introduction of the X-50 powerkit!!
