2003 Boxster

Hi I'm a 'new' owner of a silver 2003 Boxster. I want to revive the soft top using Renovo but am not sure of the colour! Is it black that has faded or is it dark blue? Looks blue in some light but maybe black at other times. How can I find out the true colour?

Roof colour codes are somtimes listed on the option sticker for the car which is found in the service manual or the sticker under the bonnet.

Failing that a call to a Porsche Centre with your VIN number and they will be able to look it up for you.

The codes for a 2003 Boxster are:

V2 Graphite Grey

V4 Metropol Blue

V9 Black

Hi

Thanks for the info/ The details on the VIN label included the trim code as X1 but not the soft top code. A call to Dick Lovett at Bristol revealed it to be V4, Metropol Blue.

I now need to see if I can source some soft top reviver in that colour. Any ideas?

Renovo do a kit blue dye you paint on then use a proofer .

My advice would be only use the blue paint dye if absolutely necessary if the roofs in such a poor condition.

It does a reasonable job especially if the roof is that faded but won't look or feel as new.

Sometimes a good deep clean and reproof does wonders.

Thanks for the advice. As it happens I have some Renovo soft top cleaner and reproofer so I'll use that before I consider colour renovation.
