Hello,

This is my first post here, usually with a problem like this I would all my Porsche specialist, but as everyone is in lockdown, I thought I would try the forum.

So, for the last 2 nights, the alarm has gone off randomly, once a night so far, two nights in a row, and for short period only, the horn goes off for only about a minute, then horn stops and then the indicators continue to flash until I unlock and then re-arm. Can anyone suggest what I could do before I am able to consult the garage?

Much appreciated.
Dan

Welcome Dan.

Have you checked all the various compartments are properly closed - glove box etc? Is your battery on a conditioner/trickle charger? Could be the alarm's own battery coming to the end of it's natural?

hi,

and thanks, have checked glove compartment is closed, new car battery fitted in January. No trickle charge, don’t know about car alarm battery, do you where that is located?

Left-field theory, but assuming the main car battery is healthy: when you turn the car off, do you shut down the climate system?
If it's left on when the cars turned off the vents are still open, so wind might be blowing into the car and triggering the interior sensors - they are a tad sensitive.
I always power the fan right down to turn the climate off. When you do this, you can hear a whirr as the vents shut.

not occurred to me to turn the climate off, but could give it a try, have decided to double click the remote tonight to disable the interior sensor to spare another wakeful night for the neighbours, so will save this trick for another day.
