Speculation about a 'facelift' for the Cayenne has been in a number of publications, but it does put Porsche in a very awkward position.

No one could claim that the Cayenne is a thing of beauty, but someone at Porsche must have signed it off. Having embarked on this route, it would be disloyal to all the early customers for Porsche to make any radical changes at such an early stage. The current models would be forever dubbed the 'ugly' ones.

There may be subtle design improvements, but I reckon that Porsche will hope that, with familiarity, its controvertial looks will become more acceptable.

After a diesel it'll be an MPV! Somebody will want an electric Porsche next!

Mr. F. Porsche designed and built an electric car back at the start of the 20th century. It had electric motors in the hubs I think.
It was looked at by NASA when they were designing the lunar buggy. I guess it was a little before its time.
So, Porsche has some limted history for electric vehicles - therefore no problem with the advertising and launch. Of course California will be the target market. It may yet come to pass.
Perhaps they wil give you a cd with engine noises to play on your 20 speaker stereo, while wafting along sounding like a milkfloat on the outside.
 
Correct first ever Porsche was 4 wheel drive ELECTRIC...............nothing is new, don't forget they put WATER in the 911! Anything is possible.[8|]

But is it progess and will it get Porsche back with a works sportscar program?
 
If the Cayenne Diesel makes money (which it will) and fills the coffers then hopefully Motorsport will benefit.[8|]

seriously, i do wish Porsche would get back into motorsport,
 
Repeating what I said on 996 forum.

Just back from 2 weeks in US - skiing in Park City, Utah - then hanging out in New York.

Counted:

911s (all models) - 0
Boxsters - 1
Cayennes - several million.

Like it or not - Porsche understand their demographics.
