"Porsche will present on April 4th at the 18th Auto Mobil International (AMI) in Leipzig the new Boxster RS 60 Spyder. The RS 60 Spyder is a vivid reminder of the Porsche racing era of the 'sixties in color, shape, fittings and philosophy..."

This is from a new review on 2008 Porsche Boxter RS 60 Spyder, from Top Speed. It includes info on the design, safety and performance of the model, as well as other features. Also available is a video and wallpaper / photo gallery.

Sorry to say I find that an exercise in utter pointlessness.

Quite agree but at least Porsche can't hype up how many 1000's of hours sweating were done over the drawing boards to end up with this "special!" edition []

This sort of nonsense really does smack of accountants and bottom lines whilst from an engineering or design criteria it delivers zero and wastes the catchy RS60 tag [&o]

Agree in part - but how many Porsches are sold because of the brand rather than the engineering anyway? Doesn't it also have a slightly higher output 3.4l engine - so there is some incremental engineering in there.

Hi there,

"RS60 spyder is a vivid reminder of..." what a load of twaddle, as you say marketing at his best with bottom line in mind in a struggling market. Acutally the original Boxster (the front) looks more like the original RS, not the Mk.III.

Lately Porsche seem to specialise in small changes, by the time you get the delivery, a new rone is already in the pipeline.Keeps the momentum of sales going, the other side of the coin is that residuals are deteriorating by the minute. Volume and exclusivity do not go together.

Some how they must finance the 10.000 million euros to buy 20% of VAG shares.

Oh dear looks like the Porsche designer of the RS60 has nicked the colour scheme from a competitors past effort []
