Hi Guys,
I have the standard multifunction steering wheel on my Gen 1 Turbo which I dont like...I had the XPA sports thick steering wheel on my C4S which I miss..Has anybody had the new 2010 steering wheel retro fitted to their gen 1's? - Just making sure that the actual fitments inside are the same etc...
Cheers

I believe its been done with a paddle shift wheel fitted to an earlier PDK wheel and the tip wheels can also accept the padle shift too. Worth looking on renntech or sixspeedonline for your answer regarding the non auto / tip wheel.

I fitted a techart steering wheel and then the multi function controls afterwards on my 987 S gen 1 boxster. The 997 uses the same wheel and electronics as a 987 , so a techart option is definitely possible. Suncoast porsche in the USA can supply the gen 1 XPA wheels as a retro fit , allowing you to retain the airbag , and multi function controls saving on cost. Otherwise you need the multi function wheel with XPA and a new airbag , plus a recode I suspect.

Thanks for the reply..
Yes I got my XPA steering whhel for my C4S from Suncoast they were very good and half the price of an OPC (and most OPC's just thought it was the sports steering wheel which it wasn't) I just wanted to make sure the electronics will be all ok between gen 1 and gen 2 and incidentally Suncoast have since told me that a few of their U.S customers have already done this with no hassles (again OPC in UK say you cant)
There is a company called Age styling in Sweden that are very competitive so I will go through them..they were around £800 for new 2010 MF wheel incl airbag as I have the triangular shape I need that changed too...
Cheers...
