2012 Road and Race Concours

The annual regional concours will be held at John Bradshaw's Road & Race premises on Sunday June 10th. Entrants are requested to arrive no earlier than 10:00 and no later than 10:30. Judging will commence no earlier than 11:30 - should give people enough time to wipe the bug splats off the windscreen.

This is a reason to give the P&J a good wash and brush-up.

Entries are invited for a single class (Entry Level) concours - this is the judging criteria we normally use. The judges will include two people from Road and Race who have volunteered their services.

John will be providing cold lunch and hopefully hot coffee, but the weather has time to warm up so the coffee maybe changed to orange squash.

If I can twist Hassan's arm the present National Concours winning car will be on display.

Details on how to get to Road & Race will be posted on here and emailed to the entrants.

If you wish to enter your car or need further details please contact myself via email. If you don't have my email please contact David Baker for my details (I'm not going to put my private email address on the forum). Hopefully I will be at the next regional meeting if anyone wishes to give me their entry details then. (I haven't been to the previous two meetings due to illness).

Cheers,

Oh great..is it that time again already [:D]

2 days cleaning to lose to jamie again as he flys back in from portugal the night before and puts his car through ahmeds shiney suds on his way there.......5th place is all mine I tell you!! [;)]

There is still time to enter the regional concours. ( Good excuse to give the P&J a good wash and brush up!)

Here is the website for R&R http://www.road-and-race.com/

If you are using Sat Nav to get there please do not use the postcode in the final stages as it can take you to the wrong address.
When you are on the A6 at Little Hulton lookout for the White Lion pub, it is on the corner of Highfield Road and R&R is 150 yards up Highfield Road on the right hand side.

Cheers,

Fred,
Could you book me in for the Regional Concours.
VRM, if you need it E99SHB.
Vitesse,
Still trying to get my hands on the wheels we talked about.

Hello All,

Hope all the entrants have cleaned and polished the PAJ ready for this Sunday at Little Huyton. Bring wetgear and brolly as the forecast is not looking too brilliant. If the weather is too bad then judging will be done with the help of binoculars. All being well we won't have to stand out in the rain all day and I'm sure the lunchtime eats will be undercover.

If all the entrants turn up there should be about sixteen cars there and you will also get a chance to see the current National Concours Champion along with his winning car. (Please don't ask Hassan for his autograph!).

See you on Sunday,

Cheers,

Fred says the weather will be fine on Sunday.

Just to clarify the point, I am refering the the 'ITV Fred'
and not the 'R18 Fred'.......[8D]

Either way, just make sure Zeb doesn't get any trophies for his Alderly Edge prepared new car. Him even entering would be as despicable as me entering the Spyder when I'd just bought it... D'oh!

Rob,

I think you are just miffed because Liz hasn't asked you to take her to the Concours. I trust you have organised a suitable birthday treat for her.

Another couple of years and a couple of polishes and your Spyder will have a chance of winning.

Zeb forgets about the fifteen penalty points for being from the wrong side of the Pennines - got to admire his unrelenting desire to win though. Jamie's car is already at John Bradshaw's but John has been leaving pieces of bread on the bonnet to tempt the seagulls pooing on it, (I was going to say 'crapping' on it but thought people may not appreciate it!), don't think that will wash off with the rain!

Cheers,

Hello All,

First of all a big thank you to all the entrants, a very high standard of entries this year. A bigger thank you goes to John Bradshaw and his team for a terrific venue and all the effort they all put into the day to make it a great success. A thankyou must also go to Hassan Isaji for displaying his national concours winning 2.7 RS.

The Results.

Winner - Andrew Cross with his superb 911T.
Second - Mike Trotter with his lovely Boxster.
Third - We had a tie for this position, Jeremy Heney's 997 and Jamie Wilson's Boxster.

The weather was far better than expected, the last few years have always been fortunate in this respect. The sacrifices to the weather gods must work!

Sorry I didn't get a chance to speak to everyone who attended, if I didn't speak to you please don't think I was ignoring you.

Cheers,

Good day

great result!

and thanks for organising it all again fred and thanks to john&co too for their kind hospitality.

Nice to see Heney's charitable donations to the Fred Hindle Appreciation Society finally paid some dividends!!!

Bet he's glad Peter Bull and Mark Greenwood couldn't make it this year ;-)

As for Wilson, having his car fully restored and repainted last week by the hosts was clearly a good call!

Usual fees next year Fred? I can enter again now Jezza's won a cup!!

ooh your a cynic kellock

anyway messers bull&greenwood knew I was coming so decided to swerve it I believe....[;)]

I didnt get a cup got a bottle of wine but I can live with that, just sharing the podium with Xfactor wilson is reward enough for me rob....

p.s Fred ....is the monaco account you wanted the money paying into still called fido 964 ?! [;)][:D]
