This is the thread to post up about any track days that members in the Region are doing this year, maybe others will come and join you.

I will start the ball rolling by saying that I have just signed up for the MSV novice day at Cadwell on Friday 2nd March, £99 so well cheap, just hoping for good dry weather now.

How can you be a novice Mark- we did Cadwell last summer remember!! Oh and you had lessons as well!!![:D]

I think we (R4) have a few of R7 members doing our Blyton Park event on 22 April. We look forward to seeing you there, for what we hope will be a regular event.

I'm going along to the R4 novice day at Blyton to give it a go! anyone else going along from the R7? At £35 for the session with instruction its well worth a go.

Any of you doing any PCGB days???[8|]

Melv,

A couple of us have done the Croft day in the past but since its demise most of the other days are a long way south, Oulton and Cadwell aside. I think that the only thing putting people off is the high cost of club days.

As an example the recent day I did at Cadwell was £89 and there is another later in the month at £120, compared to the £180 for the club day. Personally my fund is quite small and so I have to be picky.

I agree, cost of Porsche club days are way too expensive, however I am finding that any decent circuit is wanting silly money and also ripping you off for higher noise limits. As far as I am concerned I will pack trackdays in and put the Lotus back on the road for a full year for less than the cost of one trackday!!!

It is down to supply and demand. If people pay high prices then that is what the circuits will charge them- who wouldn't- they are in business. It is up to the general public to say enough is enough and not be prepared to be ripped off. If we all said that, then the prices for most things in this country would have to come down!!!

Chris

I agree Chris, the prices are high, in particular the club ones are some of the most expensive around and I cant see any of them going down in the near future. This coupled with the price of fuel makes them an expensive day out [&:] But, if ya wants to play ya gotta pay[;)]

So, ive booked Blyton on the 28th of this month with Javalin and Cadwell on the 14th of May for the BMW cc day. The biggi for me this year is the BaT days at Spa on the 30/31 July followed by a few days at the 'ring [8D] I'm sure there will be others over the course of the summer to stretch the cars legs as well....

Feel free to join me/us, im sure if you have a single drop of petrol in your blood you will love it and enjoy the whole experience. But, be warned, its highly addictive and has been said, can cause serious damage to your wallet [;)]

As mentioned previously, R4 are running a novice day at Blyton Park next weekend for £35. This is just a one off deal though and I am in touch with PCGB motorsports division to see if I can generate enough interest for them to run it as another northern venue. It's not the widest of circuits but very flat and smooth, with huge run off areas; and it is an awful lot cheaper than Cadwell & Oulton. It can also be used in the summer when the cost of the others is prohibitive. There is a long thread in Track Days forum on this very subject.
Glenn, I may come over to Blyton on the 28th and watch the RS, also a chance to catch up with Jebbo from Javelin.

To those R7 members who attended our Blyton Park event, thanks for coming, I'm sure you all enjoyed the experience. And to those who didn't attend, you missed a great day! We are already interested in running another event later in the Year. Booman, I will not be able see you on the 28th as I am visiting my Wife in Runcorn. I was really looking forward to seeing you peddle your rocket around Blyton; I'll catch up with you soon.

Not a problem Gav, are you doing the Boxster launch at Sheffield, if you are ill see you there [:)]

The Blyton day im doing is this Sunday the 29th not the 28th as I previously stated, if anyone is interested....

Ive also now booked Cadwell on Monday June the 11th, again with Javalin, evening session and at £69 as cheap as chips [;)]

Michael, me and Tommo are going on a pilgrimage to Anglesey on Friday. Haven't done this track before so am looking forward to it. It will be a tiring day with about 150 miles on track driving flat out then a return journey of 125 miles- glad its Saturday the day after!!

Chris

Did exactly the same thing last year on the Easter week-end, took 4 1/2 hours to get home, absolute nightmare []

On the up side, great circuit, you will love it [;)]

Anglesey was a great but tiring day. Fantastic circuit with marvelous scenery, red hot sushine all day. constantly overflown by RAF Hawks and helicopters and the Red Arrows could be seen practising nearby. A lot of fast stuff there Gt3s M3s and various race prepared cars not to mention a McClaren!! Did about 120 miles on track between us followed by a long run home and a blockage on the M62 meaning taking A roads home. Managed to get into the pub at about 9.30!!

Chris

Just booked for Donington on Monday 24th September- it can't still be raining by then!!

Looking forward to it, Donington is a great track, high speed with challenging corners, the Elise will get some hammer on the day!!!

If anybody interested turn up on the day for a few passenger laps.[:)]
