My 981 has the single zone HVAC. At some point this year, the drivers side has stopped receiving processed (heated or cooled) air and just gets (external?) ambient.
As far as I can tell, the problem is likely to be in the distribution unit. Again AFAICT, the dual zone has two stepper motors and flaps designated to mix heated/cooled air with ambient and the single-zone has just one stepped and connected flaps. The single zone stepper is on the passenger side - I guess it makes sense that the connection from pax-to-driver flaps has broken…
…anyone have any experience of this? I understand from the Australian Youtube guy (John Richards) that it’s likely to be a monster job - dismantling most of the dash/interior and removing the entire heat/cooling system just to get at the central distribution box.
