2014 Endurance Championship Silverstone - Easter Sunday

This years World Endurance Championship kicks off at Silverstone over the Easter weekend. What makes this year's championship interesting from our point of view is that Porsche make a welcome return with the 919 LMP1 and Mark Webber.

The main race takes place on Sunday the 20th link here and costs about £40 for the Sunday only, with race taking 6 hours.

If anyone is interested in going down together then sign up.
 
We are still waiting to hear if Porsche Club GB have arranged an infield "display" type parking area for our Porsche's at this important race meeting like we used to have before Porsche were part of the race team. Has anyone any news ?

That came out a bit rude, that wasn't what I meant it.

Right we have an infield parking area and discounted tickets, so let's put on a show. I don't know how big it is, but it won't be unlimited so let's have some commitment pretty quickly and get booked up.

I have spoken to Chris who gave me some information about discounted tickets and infield passes that he has been trying to arrange
with Silverstone and the FIA who are organising the race meeting.
The information is that we should contact the Silverstone ticket office on 0844 3750 740 saying you want the "Porsche Offer" tickets and
an infield pass for your Porsche.
The Porsche Offer tickets are priced at :- Weekend £34 pp, Sunday £29.75 pp, Saturday £17 pp, Friday £10 pp. this is a discount of 15% on the normal price.
At this time we don't know where the infield parking area will be.
As time is short, I have circulated the info that I have to the Regional Organisers, because it probably won't be in the April Porsche Post

Just as a footnote, if anyone has ever dealt with Silverstone or any of the many companies associated with the circuit you can understand why Bernie Ecclestone hates dealing with the circuit!
 
TBH the infield parking would be as welcome as the ticket discount - it's chuffin miles from the car parks to the Wing!

Once you have completed your transaction, please call Club Office and quote your membership number, we'll then arrange for an infield car parking pass to be dispatched to you.
