Lots of dates starting to go on the events thread, please let us know what else needs to go on there.

Do I get a prize for putting the first Christmas event on? It comes around so soon!

A thought for discussion... The events list is only visible to those who have joined the forum at least... Should not at least the list, without details, be in the bit that everyone can see, so they can see why they should join us?

Hi Tref,

Confused here. It's open to non-members, so how could it be un-viewable to anyone?

Are there "guest" rights on some forum areas that need correcting: it should be as simple as members-only, or open to all. It's hard to know, as we see everything with admin rights so don't get the different views.

Well I cannot view the 944 forum other than Faqs and the other sub folder thingy unless I am signed in, I presume it is the same for others? I did think it was "hiding our light" a little, but had assumed it had been debated and agreed. Sometimes it takes something like this to highlight things which could be better?

Hmmm. Having created a non-registered account and played around a bit, you're right. Looking at the forum settings it's changed, so non-registered people can't see it. I've changed the 944 forum back, but with c. 140 different areas I'm not going to go through them all!

I think this is a result of the fiddling around we've had before the new media all comes online. We have been battling to support the old forum software until the new version is live, and we may have swapped emails coming back, for some default settings changing without us knowing.

I'm all for a lot less forum areas on the new platform. 140-odd is ridiculous: half that is still 70 forums, I bet 20 would be enough. [8|]

Please point mistakes like this out: we have 17500 forum users so you will spot things that we don't! [&:]

So, what are these events Paul ? [:)]. I'm waiting for the Hove Car Club chappie to get back to me re dates for their show at Stanmer House which, we have been invited to join in. I will, of course, post this date
as soon as I know. Hmm, hope it doesn't clash with Le Mans .........[8|]

Paul.. Just discovered now that not only can you read, but you can also post as a guest now!

I'm confused, but to be honest there are so many glitches and this version of the forum is being replaced any time now. I can't see anything wrong in the settings, but I'm not going to start messing with it!
