Great! Here’s a tailored version of your post specifically for Rennlist or PistonHeads—more technical and Porsche-owner focused, but still clear and approachable:

Subject: 2015 Panamera Diesel - Limp Mode After Kickdown (Fault Code 0603)

Hi all,

Hoping someone can help shed some light on an issue I’m experiencing with my 2015 Panamera Diesel (970 model).

The car drives perfectly under normal conditions, but if I use kickdown to accelerate hard, it immediately goes into limp mode, and I get a “Take vehicle to workshop” warning on the dash. If I turn the ignition off and back on, the message disappears and the car drives normally again—until the next hard acceleration.

I scanned the car using my iCarsoft diagnostic tool and got the following codes:

  • 0603 Passive / Sporadic Consumer Shutoff (eEm)
  • 8144 Passive / Sporadic Communication with Air Quality Sensor (LIN bus vehicle)

From what I understand, 0603 relates to the electric energy management (eEm) system. The battery is brand new, and I’m not experiencing any other obvious electrical issues. The fact that it only happens during full throttle makes me wonder if it’s a voltage drop or some kind of electrical load protection triggering limp mode.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Could this be caused by:

  • A weak alternator?
  • Poor ground or power connection under load?
  • Air quality sensor interfering via the LIN bus?
  • Or possibly a software/ECU glitch?

Appreciate any insight or suggestions. Happy to run further diagnostics if needed.

Best regards,
Steve Baker

For a Porsche Panamera diesel with error code P8144, the issue likely stems from a low-pressure fuel pump failure, potentially causing the engine to start, sputter, and then die, eventually refusing to start. Consider professional inspection and replacement of both in-tank fuel pumps and the associated filter.
The P0603 error code in your 2015 Porsche Panamera Diesel indicates a problem with the Internal Control Module Keep Alive Memory (KAM). This typically points to an issue with power or wiring to the engine control module, potentially including a blown fuse, low battery voltage, or a faulty KAM module

Thank you for the response Justin. I'll look into this.
