2018 Cayman 718 S settings

So I wanted to change some of the display settings on the right hand dial on the dashboard.
Oil pressure display in psi rather than Bar, battery voltage instead of boost pressure, etc.
I can change the settings, but they revert back to the previous settings when I next start the car.
I also ticked the box that enables the near side mirror to tilt when you select reverse, but it doesn’t!
Also wanted to disable the cabin fan/heater from always being on when I first turn the ignition on, but no luck.
Any ideas please?
Thanks.

Sorry can’t help I afraid but have you actually read your Driver’s Manual? Always a good first step!

I’m not certain if it applies to the 718 but I thought that the automatic tilting mirror function was only available with fully-powered seats with memory settings, or something similar?

I’m not aware that it’s ever been possible to disable the heater fan on start-up. It may be possible to do this via PIWIS but you’ll need to contact your local Porsche dealership for advice.

Thanks Jeff.

I do have the seats with memory settings, and the option is “tickable”.

Regarding the fan, I’ve never owned a car where the heather defaulted to ON every time!

Do you have climate control or air conditioning (and maybe that doesn’t matter) but on my 987.2 it is possible to program the two ignition keys to select different options on startup and if I recall correctly it is possible to set the climate control to off and have the key remember that setting. Without referring to my manual I can’t say exactly how that’s done.

I’ve not heard about that Andrew. Maybe it’s accessed via PCM which I don’t have?

Jeff

Have you saved the settings to memory 1 or 2 and /or they key. Unless you save them they revert back.

...in terms of fan / heater. You can save the temperature, don’t think you can change the fan speed, but clearly if it is cold and the temp is hot then the fans will be on high, if it is hot and the temp is set hot then the fans are less likely to come on (I would think)

Hi Jeff,

Yes it’s set in my PCM 3.0 under Personal Settings I believe.

I found it to be useful when I hillclimbed the car as (as far as I recall) I set the spare key to have the Climate Control, Daytime Running Lights, and automatic Door Locking all OFF.
