2021 Rear suspension safety recall

Its 2 years since my 981 Boxster S went in to my local OPC to have the recall work carried out.
I know at the time there was a lot of discussion on the forum about whether the OPC's would carry out 4 wheel laser alignment on completion of the work.
At the time of my car drop off, I asked this and was assured it would be carried out although I never received any documentation to confrim that it had.

2 years on, today I removed the wheels to give them a clean as I like to present my cars for MOT in a clean and looked-after condition.
I noticed that the offside rear tyre has a wear pattern towards the outer edge.
4mm tread depth at the inner edge, 1.8mm at the outer edge.
I have only done 2.5k miles since the safety recall so am unsure whether those amount of miles would account for the 2mm differential in tyre wear.
But I now have my doubts that my OPC did do a 4 wheel laser alignment following the safety recall work.

As it is, my rear tyres are about 7 years old now and I think both have had puncture repairs on but apart from the offside rear outer edge, the nearside tyre also has good tread depth.
I know the "theories" about renewing tyres by a certain age but my car lives in the garage when not in use and is not exposed to UV light when not in use and it is this which ages the rubber of a tyre.
Both my MG's have tyres older than this, I know they are not performance cars, both are stored in the same garage and neither of those show any deterioration of the tyre rubber.

Its probably time I need to renew my rear tyres but am thinking I will also now need to get the rear alignment checked as well.

Since I purchased my roof micro-switches earlier this year to fix my roof issue from the very same OPC and the parts "manager" absolutely totally poo-pooed the possibility that it was the switches that were at fault because "they never go wrong" and "in 20 years he has never sold any of them before", I have very little faith in main dealerships to go with my experiences of driving a Vauxhall company car for 30 years which was always serviced by Vauxhall and being an Audi owner for 30 years and knowing how they treat their "valued customers" come service time.

In my experience, OPCs insist on doing a 4-wheel alignment whenever anything suspension or steering-related is touched, or even if they have to remove one of the cross braces. I would be amazed if it wasn’t done after your recall unless they completely forgot. Presumably their internal workshop record for that work should be available. I’ve totalled around 175,000 miles in my 4 Porsches (see below) and they have all worn the rears very evenly across the tread. However, if you have Pirelli’s on there, the outer slightly narrower groove is from memory about 1.5mm less deep from new than the 3 main grooves. Your measurements may reflect that but even so, both rears should be the same.

I suppose it is possible that bush deterioration in one side of the rear suspension (or a pothole) could have caused a misalignment resulting in uneven wear. I recently had a control arm replaced due to a failing bush - this is quite common in cars of this age. Inevitably that OPC repair was followed by a 4-wheel alignment, all included in the Porsche extended warranty.

I think every used Porsche has a 4 wheel alignment before being sold.

All my wifes from main dealers have never had uneven tyre wear at all whilst owned.

I never noticed those "accessories" being offered when I bought my car from an OPC..... plenty of branded mugs and baggage though!!!

I'll get my coat!
