2100rpm rattle (again)

waspe

New member
Good evening

My 987S has succumbed to the 2100 rpm rattle, but the dealer here in South Australia has not heard of the issue (we are remote, even given our Antipodean location)

Does anyone have the TSB that refers? I am bringing the car in to the dealer in a day and a half and a print out would help. I can't seem to find it even using the search faciltiy, only references to it(including one of mine)

Kind regards

Peter

Here you go - might have a different coding for Australasia

You are missing about a page and a half on that.........

I'd post the whole thing but it is about 350kb, and you can only post 200kb attachments. Isn't it about time the club updated this forum software?

quite true but quoting ENU1726 should be sufficient

complete pain in the **se isn't it []

I have emailed Richard for a copy of the TSB. When I read the attachment to Black80XSA it seems this only applies to engines after Decemebr 2005? Or does this mean that engines after Dec 2005 have the fix already built in?

I think there was quite a long period in 2005 before Germnay found the cause and solution to the 'rattle' - as a result lots of 2005 cars are affected, and some early MY06 cars (incl my Sept 05). By December the factory were probably fitting the revised parts.
