220 turbo chip sets

If it was built for the 1988 production year and later it will have a 28 pin dme, if it was built before then it will have a 24 pin dme.

1988 cars will have a letter J as the 9th chracter in the VIN, 1987 will be an H, 1986 will be a G etc

The 9th charecter on mine is Z followed by J so i guess mine is an 88 production model.. I have a chip set that has the 24 pin KLR chip but comes with 2 DME chips one is 28 pin the other is a 24 pin. Im presumming the 28 pin one is correct for my car but the guy i bought them off says he ran the 24 pin one in his 1990 250 turbo but as you say the 24 pin one is for the early models so im a little confused now ??
