23.3_52.3 Offset?

Nouveau

New member
I have Just Bought Some Wheels with the offset Of 23.3 For My rears...but the ones I'm taking off are 52.3..Will this make a difference..Both are 15's But the New are 7J instead of 6J

yes - they are going to stick out too far (unless the old ones are wrong)

what are the wheels? (and what car / year?)

23 is for early 944's & older 911's afaik.

I would look for some more with the right offsets - or even better, some 16" teledials (not easy to find though).

Wider wheels may look good, but the delicate steering feel of the 24S has a lot to do with narrow / light fronts - mine was a much nicer car to steer than my 944 turbo.

If you're going to repaint them, getting teledials with the correct offset should not be that tricky: I have two 15x6 ET 52.3s you can have for a song (assuming you can sing). As mentioned on other threads [;)] ET 36 is all you can go down to in the rear, ET 43 in the front, assuming you are not going to monkey with the 924Ss wheel arches

Old wheels ET52/6j and new ET23/7j?
it will make a fair difference. You will have 16mm more inner clearance and the wheels will stick out more than 42mm further!
Hope you've got some arch spats.

A chap who races his 924S in the States Told me he has Tele's (7J) from a 944 on his rears...He obviously has made some adjustments to Accomodate them..But failed to tell me that Info!....unless spec was Different there?
I just want wider Wheels at the rear!!!

Thanks Though chaps...

Ok, if you want wide rear wheels, one option is to use D90s. off the 964: 16x6 ET 52 front, 16x8 ET 52 rear. They fit (just) with 225/50s on the rear, and should be more tyre than you'll ever need on a 924S, unless you fit a supercharged 3 liter. They come up for sale every so often & are relatively cheap.

As others have said, a lot of the cars charm is in the delicacy of the handling, which tends to go south if you overtyre the thing, but hey, you pays your money...

I've got a set of late offset 15" teles, nicely re-furbed and with coloured centre caps. Cheap as chips if you can use them.

There are 15x7" teledials with the right offsets - the le Mans 924S had 7" rears.
Early 928's had 15 x 7 teledials, & I'm guessing later 944 Luxes had them as well (but with the wrong tyres for a 924)
