245/45/16 P Zero C's

As some of you will know, we're very short of track rubber in 16's for the 944 turbo (and I think lots of regular trackday drivers have already moved to 17's for that reason)

I've got a few 225/50/16 P Zero-C's, but have been unable to track down any rears - until now.

Just spoken to Jason @ Protyre Motorsport - Pirelli are doing a short production run & the tyres will be available in March. He quoted me £156 + VAT.
He could come down a few quid for quantities, but I don't think there's much of a group buy opportunity - probably a saving of £10 (inc VAT) per tyre. I'm going to buy 4 - anyone else interested?

Once these are gone, there may not be any more for a long time.....

I remember when I used to be able to use 16" wheels [;)]

I've got 4 225s looking for a good home at the right price - 1 track day and 1 evening use only.

how doe these compare with the Michelin Pilot Cups? I could be interested in 4x 245's

Don't know - they look very similar - how much are the Michelins?

AFAIK The P Zero Corsa has superseded this tyre

Only about £10 more per corner.

The P zero C do wear well, but I'm not sure I'd want to pay that much for them.

John - how much would you want for you 225s? And do you know what date they were made, it says it on it somewhere.

I wish I'd known this a few months ago. I gave up trying to get P-Zeros, it was easy to get a quote but once ordered, I got the same story everywhere - 'None in stock with Pirelli, and at least 3 months before there'll be any more' so I ended up getting some Continental Conti Sport or something, so now I have P-Zero on the front and Continental on the rear.

Everything was OK until the snow hit the M42 last Friday, I couldn't accellerate at all without the back end sliding all over the place. Had a very close miss with a parked van at the M6 toll services too.[:(]
