265 rears fit on a C2 ???

Hi all ordering a set of 10inch rear 18s for the c2 964 just wondering if they will fit without any problems???

Jason,

As long as the offset on the wheels is around 47mm I believe the 265 tyres will be OK - just. It doesn't leave a great deal of room on a narrow body and it does, I believe, depend on the make of tyre - some are better than others. You should check clearance for the oil pipe in the right rear wing and, more obviously, the wing itself.

Dave

Ah ha, thanks very much has anyone on here done this mod? any pics, very hard to find info on these cars!!

I have fitted 10 inch rear tyres to my 964 narrow body and it is very tight. You will as dave said an offset of 47mm. I used dunlop sp9000 tyres all round and they fitted ok. The wheels i fitted had a 56mm offset and i had to fit spacers and change the rear studs to correct the offset to 47mm otherwise they rubbed the oil pipe!!!. looks nice although Porsche dont recommend doing it. You may need to fit extra steering stops at the front to stop rubbing if 17inch wheels were not fitted prior to the 18s.

oh dear this sounds like alot of hastle, what about 8.5 inch rears with spacers, would that be ok?

It is not really alot of hassle if the offset is correct, 8.5 would be ok but the standard 17inch cups are i believe 9 inch rear so your wheels will not be as wide as standard. I would fit 18s i know a few people who have done this with no problems reported

See the thing is, the place we are ordering them off want a deposit before we do so, and there non returnable from Italy! so dont want to order them and find out they dont fit :(

Jason,

8.5J is too small for the rear. The sets which are produced by Mille Miglia are 8.5J/ET52 for the front and 10J/ET47 for the rear. As long as the rear wheels are 47mm offset (which I'm sure the supplier can confirm) you will be OK. It would be a shame to spend a load of money on wheels which are just the wrong size.

Any web links to the wheels you are ordering??? Maybe we can check them out for you.

Regards

Dave

No pics im afraid but no doubt out of the mille miglia factory as most of them are! they are the 5 spoke carerra replica's
