hi all,

i'm very much a noob but learning fast, tried searching but didn't find anything,

Just wondered if there is a tool like options decoder or if just part of your chassis number will reaveal the cars build date?

Also what tyre pressures? manual says 36f 44r for 18" Carrera 5 spoke wheels, but i heard of people using 36f&r any thoughts?

You can get the year of manufacture from the VIN, but not the build date. There is quite a cool VIN decoder on www.renntech.org (by the King of RMS failure Scouser). Porsche GB should be able to give you a build history of the car with all the option codes unscrambled. Never done it myself, but I understand you have to give them proof of ownership and they will do it. I was once told that the sticker on the door driver's door shut had a build date on it, but apart from the VIN I couldn't make head nor tail of the other numbers. Anyone have any info on this?

I would stick to the recommended 36/44, unless you particularly want to change the handling characteristics.
