3.0 SC Zeemax

Hi,

Hope you can help!

Please can someone tell me what a 3.0 SC 1978 full Zeemax kitted 911 would cost (flatnose) In bright yellow with full leather interior. It has full Porsche history and 66K on the clock.

I would like to make an offer on the car but have no idea what it is worth.

I think any modifiied is worth what an individual is prepared to pay for it, it's hard to value a modified car. If it checks out mechanically and you like the look of it it could vary as much as 2.5k down to 4-5k up on the book price. If you are thinking you might resell at some point a flatnose is very desirable to some people and not so to many others. Zeemax conversions are well done from the ones I have seen, post some pics os a link.

Hi,

This is a Pic of the car I am after. The person selling it wants 20K what do you think.

Thanks very much for your help

Sorry can't get it to uplkoad but you can find a pic at the attached link.

Thanks

Agree with Bones. But to go a bit further I think £20k is a lot for 78SC, Zemax kit or not. Are you confident that remaining metal panels, floorpan, underbody etc are sound and free of rust? Is there evidence to suggest that it is mechanically 100% in all areas? Have you looked at what other 911's you could get for/ within budget?

Agree with Jerry about the price. It looks well done and has more of the 935 look about it than a straight Turbo flat-nose conversion. I like the style if you can live with the colour and the PPI is good see if you can get it for no more than 15k. I know of a concours winning low mileage SC that recently sold for 19k through a dealer but that was as it left the factory and is probably worth more because of it's originality and flawless condition. One check to make if testing this car is too observe if there is plenty of clearance for the 18" rims lock to lock, look at the inner wheel arches for scuffing, 17"s are a squeeze on some cars, also see how it rides 18"s are not supposed to be that great on an SC. Check the engine bay cover and spoiler for warping , if it's fibreglass they bend and crack with age and heat. Kevlar should be ok.

Zeemax do a 935 kit - looks a bit better than this SC one IMO

Beauty most definitely in the eye of the beholder on this. Would put it at £13/13.5K tops myself. Body conversions on genuine Zeemax conversions are always very good so as always mechanicals should be the focus, as well as looking for rot in all the usual places. Bear in mind that low mileage is no guarantee of condition. Try getting some more history from Zeemax themselves. Website here if you haven't yet visited it.

You better buy yourself some good sunglasses, that is a very yellow car! [8D]

Considering that you could probably get a genuine slant nose 930SE for around the £30k mark, I think £20k for a Zeemax look alike is an appalling deal!

Thanks for your help. I think I will stick with my R32 Golf for a bit longer and save up for a newer porsche maybe a 4s or something. Just liked the look of this one.

Thanks for the advice.

Brendan

Good plan it's way overpriced, if you want something special take a look at 3.2 CSs if you can find one for sale.
