My 1989 Carrera has items missing when compared to the handbook picture. There are only 2 ring/open end spanners 8mm and 13mm, can anyone confirm the other 3 sizes please ? Similarly the picture shows some type of box spanner (not the plug spanner) what is it/size please? Any spares for sale by any chance, or does anyone have ideas where to obtain such individual items?

I have also been trying to locate an original Porsche Wind Deflector without much luck; does anyone have any ideas/or even better one they no longer need? Any comments on the effectiveness of other makes would be gratefully received.

Hi, I make my own version which was inspired by the double hoop design now seen on Boxsters, Z3 and TT, you can see more at my website
http://www.essentialstyling.com/ess_wind_deflector.htm

and may just be able to make it out below. of course it performs amazingly and looks amazing, and thats my unbiased view.

but seriously, apart from the style which I think is the most relevant for a sports car like the Porsche the main benefit I see is that you can leave it fitted regardless of the roof being raised or lowered as it has a clear polycarb panel so you can see through it. and it really does cut out the wind even at very high speeds.

Hi Simon,
Have you thought of making a wind deflector for a Targa. I nearly get sucked out of mine at anything over 65 mph.

Best wishes
Ken
PS
Hope you are bringing some Steering wheels down to the Cornish Weekend for us to look at.

If the weather is good tomorrow, I will try your Metal Polish out on the Fan blade and hopefully a photo to show the success will follow.

Hi Ken, I would be very interested in looking at the deflector for the targa, I need a car for about 3 hours to set up the design and it has to be in Kings Langley, close to JZmachtech where my engineers are based. I think your seat belt mounts are set quite high, at least above the point where the convertibles are mounted as you still have a post where the convertibles dont have.

I am also looking at the 944 and 911 speedsters but again need cars to work on.

Hey - have been polishing my engine bay furiously and had my fan removed for a proper polish as well, might give you a run for your money a Syon Pk this year, well maybe...

Best Regards, Simon
