3.2 engine life

Can anyone give me an idea of the life expectancy of a 3.2 engine? I know there are many factors that can affect engine life of one of these, i.e. How its been run in, how regular oil changes have been done, how its been driven, what type of journeys and how often.......etc. so I appreciate its a bit of a how long is a piece of string question.

The reason I ask is I'm thinking of buying a 3.2 with 135k on it and was just wondering realistically how much life is potentially left in it?

As far as i know the car has been well looked after, has been serviced regularly and is in very good order.

All help much appreciated

Thanks.

There's a 911 Club Sport (3.2 engine, albeit blueprinted), which is used everyday and has covered 400,000 miles. It had the engine 'refreshed' at 330,000 miles.

My 3.2 has done 132k miles, with no re build. Its not smoking and doesn't use bucket loads of oil. I think its just a case of make sure its been well serviced with plenty of oil changes.

Some engines have been known to be in need of a top end at say 80k others are still going strong a 200k, as previously stated it's all a matter of how well it's been looked after and what sort of use it's had - motorway vs. short comutes.

For peace of might you should have it inspected and specifically ask for a compression test..

Good luck

Cheers for the help guys.

I'm looking at the car this weekend & I believe some of you may know the owner.

The car belongs to Highfield & he has given me permission to post on here and ask for any comments on the car - (Thanks Ian)

Cheers.
