It is a 3.4. Your car is MY2001 (10th digit of VIN). I also looked it up, and you have the M96.04 engine, with confirms it is 3.4. MY2001 runs from 1st September 2000 to 31st August 2001. Sounds like someone has done a facelift conversion.

That's why i'm confused, i'm over the hill lol. Car was sold to me by a dealer has a 3.6,do i have any comeback? Only owned the car for three months. Can any of you guys help me please.

Log book says my car is a 3.4, it's a facelift 02 reg, can this be right? I'm confused.
vin/chassis/frame No WP0ZZZ99Z1S605066.
Help
cheers Baz

I would first check the VIN numbers: 1) On the plate at the bottom of the windscreen on the passenger side. 2) Stamped onto the bodywork under the plastic window to the left of the battery (as you look at it) 3) On the sticker on the driver's door shut 4) on the Identification Labels on the underside of the bonnet, and in the Maintenance Booklet I would also check the Engine Number, stamped on a small raised section of the underside of the crankcase. It sounds to me (at best) like there may have been a delay between manufacture and registration, and then the car has been facelifted with new lights and wings. Does it have the other tell-take signs of the facelift model? Glove box on the passenger side? Satin switches (rather than gloss)? The VIN you gave is a UK car, by the way. I would call Porsche Customer Services at Reading, and get them to confirm what your car actually is. I would have thought that you would have comeback under the Sale of Goods Act, but I'm no legal eagle, so it would be best to take advice.

ORIGINAL: tscaptain I'm not sure putting the full VIN on here is a good idea?
I'm always curious as to why people think this. If I'd been inclined, I could have easily collected a couple of hundred VIN numbers today at the Silverstone Classic. They are in plain sight after all...
