3.6 Turbo - well used!

I have just returned from a great weekend of motoring in North Wales with three friends in a 996 GT2 and my 3.6 Turbo. Although it was very cold, the sky was blue and conditions were fine for driving as long as appropriate care was taken.

Both cars were somewhat dirty after a couple of hundred miles - I rather like the "well used" look!

The 996 GT2 owned by a friend is just a fantastic car. The steering in particular is telepathic, and suspension control iron fisted. It was interesting comparing the GT2 to my old school 3.6 Turbo - the last 2 wheel drive Turbo that Porsche made before the GT2. My 3.6 certainly was more of a challenge - the steering is less direct, but still full of feel, and even with its modern KW3 suspension, it moves around on the road more. But all four of us agreed that it was still fantastic to drive; really engaging and very nearly as fast in a straight line!

Kind regards

Steve

What's the 'bubbling' on the rear bumper below the light cluster?

Accumulated dirt!

It all jet washed off easily (the car has several layers of Mr Dalton's finest wax applied), and next weekend Paul (of Miracle Detail) will give the car a mini detail. But it's so well waxed, including the wheels, that it really is quite easy to keep clean. The secret is staying on top of it!
