3 point rear seatbelts

Does anyone know from what year 3 point rear seatbelts were fitted as standard (prior to which it was lap belts only)? I understand that with the cars fitted with lap belts there can still be the bracket in the boot for the inertia reel. From what year was that bracket fitted? Cheers.

Don't know the answer but maybe we can work back and figure it out from the evidence. Mine's a late 1990 build, has standard 3-poit rear belts.
Now who has an '89 build?

My S2 was first registered Feb 1990. Standard 3-points in the rear.

1987. Thats 1987 model year btw, which was built from September 1986.

Im presuming that you mean three point inertia belts? Three point static belts have always been an option is some markets and the provision has always been there from the first 924.

Two point lap inertia belts were standard in 1986 model year 951s when others models made do with static two point belts, but everything was fitted with inertia reessl rears from 1987 onwards.
