3 weeks before config lockdown!

Hi everyone,

Drove a 2s cab today and it threw it down which actually turned out to be a good thing as it made me realise the new car is so good I can do without a 4s.

The car was standard bar rear wheel steer which I haven’t specified on mine, question is if mine is going to be a daily should I?

Furthermore, as some people will be 6+ months in are there any options they specified they are genuinely glad they did? Any on reflection they didn’t need? And perhaps more importantly anything they didn‘t specify they really wish they had?

Finally, I actually prefer the solid black to metallic, am I mad?!

For context I have gone with the following;

Black, black roof, black/ red interior, heated gt race tex steering wheel, surround view, spyder wheels, sport exhaust, ventilated seats, folding mirrors, chrono, led with pdls, grey top tint, sport plus seats, chrono in red, crests on headrest & coloured wheel crest.

Thanks

Nice spec. Have you been onto the Porsche configurator to chose your options? If so, please post the code as it help to see the full spec. When does it lock down?

Your decision to go for a C2S is the right one IMHO, but I would be hesitant choosing the standard black body colour. Metallic colours generally prove a better finish on 911's and flat black isn't particularly serviceable since it tends to be prone to chips and marks, but you can PPF it to preserve the finish. Black generally is quite tricky to keep clean anyway.

I wouldn't have bothered with surround view on a cab, but I would definitely have added auto-dimming mirrors. You can buy the coloured wheels crests cheaper afterwards too and then have the factory set as spares for free.[;)]

Looking good though! [:)]

Clive

Thank you Clive, yes the configurator, which in the most part is a blessing (though very time consuming before build lockdown!).

Luckily I can’t read and forgot to mention I’ve already added the dimming mirrors. Code is: PM6ET5U1

I’ve had my C2S cab since June 19
I have BOSE and would probably upgrade that as roof down sound could be better. Also have rear wheel steer. Love it and also gets me around a tight part of my drive and is fabulous. On a practical level I regularly park in an underground garage and have damaged too many splitters in the past So added front axle lift. Finally added the rear and side sports pack. Preferred the repositioned number plate with the sports exhaust

Thank you, I have now added rear wheel steer!

Looking on the web it seems the best route for decent sound is to take the car with the standard speakers then upgrade via an aftermarket route.

The Bose in the 991 isn't the same as the 992 set up. You will always get a better sound going aftermarket, but I think you will need to spend £4k plus to get a somewhat decent system and arguably, the road noise in a cab might make that redundant. I had this dilemma and really really wanted Burmester, but in the end choose to go with the Bose system. It is actually very good (far better than my 991.2), but it is limited by the amount of cabin noise on the move.

I would add the alcantara sun-visors to a cab, you will notice the awful plastic with the roof down. I note the stealth spec on the outside? You might wish to consider asking the OPC to paint your wheels black on delivery. I had mine done by OPC Swindon who knocked it out of the park.

Regards,

Tom

Hi Porkerbus,
Congratulations on ordering your C2S, we had ours, albeit a coupe, for a year and a half and were absolutely delighted with it. It is a very fast, comfortable and capable car, you are in for a treat when it comes.
Enjoy
