I was at Blackbush car auctions yesterday looking for a run around to keep the miles down on my soon to come 997S. I dis not have much luck but if anyone is interested there are apparently 3 996's in this coming wednesday sale. I only saw one but got chatting to the auctioneer who said they are all direct from Lancaster a 52 an 02 and a 1998. I only saw the 1998 which was Jade with grey sports seats and GT3 type wheels. All the tyres were good and the body work excellent. If you can put up with the colour I think it could be a good buy. I will be interested in seeing what the later cars sell for as I am currently about to sell my own 1 owner 2002 car myself.

OPCs normally retail their best part exchanges themselves.

Those that go into auction, or are passed on through the trade, may have one of a number of problems

- odd colour or spec
- repaired accident damage
- personal import
- uneconomical to prepare/warrantee
- age or high mileage

It doesn't mean that there aren't bargains at auction houses, but you need to ask why isn't it on a forecourt.
