30 days to service

My car has a polite notice that says "30 days to Service" when I switch it on.

It will be two years old this year in May, so three months of warranty left. My original plan was to do the first service, 111 point check and extended warranty in one go. My OPC has offered me a deal if I do it together.

Has anyone here tried to get the extended warranty to attach at a future date?

What happens if I do miss the 30 day "deadline"? Does the notice switch off or change to something along the lines of "get me effing serviced you lazy bast'd"? [:D] More seriously will it invalidate the last three months of my remaining warranty?

you car is displaying such a message from when everything was turned on at the factory, this happens because some people forget to reset service indicator when doing the pdi ready for handing the vehicle over, this also happens if they have pdi'd the car and it has sat round back in compound for a month or 2 ideally it should be reset on day of handover which should be the vehicle reg date

your service is due when your car reaches either 2 years from reg date or 20,000 miles it will only change on the display to "service due"

the dealer will only expect you to show for service before or on the 2 year mark for servicing

My car was last serviced on 29/09/07...(Major service).....at 36,366 miles.

The car is now on 39,560 miles.

Do I get it serviced when it hits 40,000 miles or on 29/09/09?

It's only been driven 3,000 miles since the last service so I'm guessing it's due in Sep?

Hasan,
Get it serviced on 29/09/2009 or on 56,366 miles if that is sooner[8D].

No point in servicing it at 40K just because it's a round 20K.

Get it out and give it a good drive!

personally,i would change the oil now and then service sep 2009.no logic!just my preference to change oil every yr if not driving much
