Hi All,

I'm still looking for a decent driving A Coupe to buy so if anyone is considering selling, or knows of anything for sale, I would most grateful if you could get in touch.

I have spoken to some of the usual suspects .... Roger Bray, Paul@PRS, Lee M-P, Robert Gant ...... but any other leads gratefully received.

Many thanks,
Steve

Have no idea what your budget is but Paragon have a pair ( I know you only need one) but may be a bit heavy at £39 and £59K they have had these for some time now so may be room for some talking to be done! [:)][:)]
I guess now is not a good time to start looking since anyone wishing to sell would have done so at the back end of last season -
the new one is just about around the corner and I guess most people are just about to blow the cob webs away!
Also not the best of times to buy outside the UK with the Dollar and Euro gone west - Was it LHD or RHD your looking for?
Enjoy the Search - Its the first part of ownership!!!!
KTF and one will come along!

Thanks John

I know my timing is bad, and with the £ so weak against the $&€ this cuts out most cars from US or Europe.
I was looking last year but other things got in the way (!!?**)

My budget is around £30k so the Paragon cars are still too much for me ....... and when the two are compared side by side you know which one I would want ....... yes, the better and more expensive one !!!!

Keep your ear to the ground for me ...... thanks !

Hi Steve

Are you the proud owner of the a new car? I see the not so cheap one has gone from the Paragon Forcourt[:)]

i hear paragon have sold all their 356's, i heard both coupe's went to germany, dont know if its true

Yes I had noticed the other Coupe had gone - So both RHD coupes sold to Germany?[:(]
The Euro now has the upper hand - I have heard of 993's LHD going back to Europe.

The better of the two coupes still resides in Blighty ...... but no, I didn't buy it !!
As for the other coupe and the speedster, I don't know.......??

Hi Steve,

I'm not sure if you are still looking for an 356A but if you are try contacting Uwe Beigner -http://typ356.de/misc/kontakt.htm

I have purchased a 356C and 356A coupe from him in the past and can really recommend this guy. Uwe is based just outside of Frankfurt, so flying from Stanstead to Frankfurt Hahn can be done comfortably in a day.

Let me know how you get on.

Regards

Steve

Hi Steve,

Thanks, and yes I'm still looking.
I was in touch with Uwe a little while ago and, thanks to your reminder, I have just sent him another enquiry e-mail.
However, the €/£ is so bad at the moment that European cars that were previously affordable are now £££££s !!!

All the best,
Steve

Both read OK - but don't they always.

Thanks John,

I'm nervous of US Ebay as there are lots of scams ...... these two may probably be perfectly legit; who knows.
There is also little time to get a car checked out before the auction ends.
I don't mind buying from the US, but I'm just uneasy about ebay ...... maybe I will follow up after the auction if not sold.

Cheers
Steve

Steve,

If you are considering buying from the US, I would suggest contacting the folks at the 356 Registry

http://356registry.com/

Jim Schrager, Bill Block or Al Zim are great contacts, put a shout out for them on the registry forum and I'm sure one of them will get back to you.

I also think that Bill Block keeps a log of all registry members car details, so may be able to give you some background on a prespective purchase. At the very least they will be able to recommend someone who can do a pre-purchase inspection for you.

Finally John Willhoit is a good guy based in California

Best of luck

Steve

Thanks Steve........ I am already a member the 356 Registry and do keep an eye on the classified ads on the website.
I'm sure that the membership will help me out if I find a car over there and need a PPI.
I know John Willhoit does amazing restorations but they are w-a-y out of my reach !!

All the best,
Steve

Thanks John, you are certainly on the ball !
I look at DDK every 2-3 days but you beat me to this one ! ....... will check it out.
Thanks again,
Steve
