356A HISTORY

I am trying to track down the early history of my 1957 porsche 356a. It was imported by AFN in October 1956 and I think sold by Halfway Garages of Reading. After this the trail goes cold until 1991 when it was re registered with number plate ESK383.
It was registered by a vincent mansueto of manchester but sadly he has died and his widow knew nothing of the history.

The DVLA have not been able to help and I am at a loss where to go next.

Original secification was:

1957 356a 1600S T1
Aquamarine blue metallic paint. red upholstry
RHD
VIN 58402

It was originally fitted with engine number P80770 but soon after arrival at AFN this was changed to P62392

It was then sold or sent to Halfway Garages of Reading in Feb 1957

There is no record of its original number plate.

Most of the above info has come from Mike Smith who has the AFN records.

Are you able to give me any help in tracking down its early history?

I have one document from the DVLA which has an old number plate number scored out, It is difficult to read but may have been ROI 850 or something similar.

Do the magazine publish requests for information on cars. I am a memeber of the club.

Thanks for your help.
