3rd brake light repair

Has anyone carried out the roof spoiler 3rd brake light repair as detailed at p-car.com. I intend giving this a go at the weekend but I can only imagine it will be difficult to push 2 wires through 2 beads of polyurethane bead - one on the glass edge (not to bad) and one on the main bead (difficult access)?
